The Owl Thief

A Utah O’Brien Mystery

Lies, gossip and murder in a nice little Minnesota town.

Utah O’Brien can understand why someone would kill the obnoxious, close-talking real estate agent. But why is the dead guy wearing one of her hand-made paper mache masks?

In the next few hours our eccentric small-town sculptor will face her own tragic past as her entire world turns upside down. She’ll face mean gossip from disloyal neighbors, more secrets than she can count, a snarky reporter, ghoulish Internet trolls, and a banking crisis that could put her out of business.

How will she cope with all this craziness and stay out of jail? She’ll need a whole lot of help from her friends.

You’ll like this book if you enjoy classic cozy mysteries set in a small town, where an amateur female sleuth teams up with her smart and lovable dog and a whole cast of quirky characters. Plus, there’s plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. This is the first Utah O’Brien Minnesota Mystery.

Liked this story very much — well written (never once triggered my inner editor!) The characters are real people you’d likely meet in a small town, descriptions bring clear pictures to mind, and the dog, Jocko, is the essential Border Collie. Can’t wait to read the second book in the series.
